Aura
Native app that finds the NAS via DLNA/UPnP and presents the filmography like a streaming platform, with covers generated from TMDB.
Samuele Rota, junior full-stack developer. Eight applications conceived, written and documented on my own: Android TV, iOS and Android, Windows desktop, web, cloud, Raspberry Pi.
This site is a showcase: it shows what I've built. There is nothing to download and nothing is for sale.
An AI development assistant designed to act, not just suggest: it applies patches, performs automatic rollbacks if something gets worse, and opens pull requests on its own.
Seven supported languages, a 100% local mode and a fully offline Zero-Knowledge mode via Ollama, and a “Learn to Program” section for people starting from zero.
Compliance taken care of from the start: Privacy Policy (Arts. 13-14 GDPR), Terms of Service and an AI Transparency Notice aligned with the AI Act. Designed and built entirely by me, from desktop to cloud.
Each one has its own page. The Download Centers of the Live projects are empty today: no program is published yet.
Native app that finds the NAS via DLNA/UPnP and presents the filmography like a streaming platform, with covers generated from TMDB.
Community and dating for adults (18+) in three parts: iOS client, Android client and an admin app for moderation.
Automated vehicle modding for video games: it scans Steam, Epic, Xbox and GOG libraries and guides mod creation in 8 steps.
Privacy suite in three modules: newsletter unsubscribing, removal from 24 data brokers and a pentest-style security scanner for domains.
Multiboot USB drives with profiles, an ISO catalog, an EFI Vault on Cloudflare R2 and a backend with licensing, rate limiting and analytics.
The Python engine that renames 12,111 files by cross-referencing TMDB and Wikipedia, with a journal, a web remote control and full undo.
The home's control room: Homepage, Home Assistant, UpSnap, Dockge and Mosquitto in Docker, with the “rota” command orchestrating everything.
I don't have a job title at a company yet: I have a published portfolio. Every project above I conceived, wrote, tested, documented and put online on my own — front-end, back-end, cloud, deployment.
Send an email and we'll talk: I'll walk you through the projects live, with the code at hand.
Eight projects may seem like a lot, but they are chapters of the same book. Read in order, they tell a specific journey.
Before code: cables pulled on construction sites, elevators installed and maintained, industrial systems wired on the machine. Years as an electrician and installer that teach three things: reading a technical specification, respecting safety constraints, delivering something that really has to work. That's where the method was born, not in front of an editor.
Self-taught, my first big project is also the most ambitious: an AI assistant that doesn't suggest, it acts — it applies patches, rolls back on its own, opens pull requests. Frontend, Cloudflare backend, licensing, GDPR and the AI Act: all written and documented by one person.
The same hands that used to wire electrical panels now orchestrate a Raspberry Pi 5: dashboard, home automation, wake-up of the NAS and the desktop PC, all in Docker. The philosophy is an installer's: “the control room commands, the NAS works” — every component in the right place, with the right job.
A real problem — thousands of video files with wrong names — becomes a complete chain: Filmografia Renamer renames 12,111 files by cross-referencing TMDB and Wikipedia, and Aura brings the result to the TV with a Netflix-style interface. Two apps, one single flow.
The rest of the portfolio explores different domains with the same approach: MultiBootUSB for bootable drives, InboxClear for email inbox privacy, GearForge AI for AI-guided modding, CuddleMatch for a community that needed a safe place.
The ecosystem exists, it works, and it is documented. The next chapter is a first role as a Junior Full Stack Developer — remote, hybrid or on-site between Lecco and Lombardy.
One common thread runs through even very different projects: data sovereignty. It's not a constraint imposed from outside — it's a design choice I repeat, project after project.Local-first, local encryption, privacy by design
I live in Mandello del Lario, on the shores of the Lecco branch of Lake Como, and I came to programming from an industrial and technical background. For years I worked as an electrical technician and elevator installer: a trade that teaches precision, reading specifications and solving concrete problems under real safety and time constraints.
In recent months I have designed and built, on my own, a portfolio of real applications: desktop and mobile apps, an Android TV app, a cloud backend on Cloudflare, admin panels, an MCP server — and the legal and compliance documentation that goes with them. Including the least fun chapter: security, privacy and GDPR.
Even when something isn't fixed yet, I prefer to write it down clearly, with the technical reason, rather than let it be understood as resolved.
Remote, hybrid or on-site in the Lecco area and Lombardy — open to all of Italy. I reply the same day.
